Milesfit: Transforming Lives Through Fitness

“At Milesfit, we facilitate the physical, emotional and psychological transformation of our clients through fitness.”

Change can be daunting for all of us. The way we live our lives is influenced by many factors. Our upbringing, our experiences, the things we’re exposed to by the media, the things we tell ourselves and allow ourselves to believe about the world.

We form rhythms and patterns based on these factors, and we become comfortable in them. We live in them, often for long stretches of time, or even for our whole lives. However, some of these patterns are unhelpful. Some of them hold us back from what we want.

Recently I’ve been feeling farther and farther from what I want, stuck in an unhelpful pattern. I hired a business coach in part to help me break that pattern, and get back to what I wanted. In this process, I’ve been taking time to really explore the core mission of Milesfit. Why does my business exist? What is it that I really want to provide to the world? While we offer private training, health and fitness consultations and nutritional support for our clients, I’ve come to realize that Milesfit is really about transformation.

As someone who has personally undergone their own physical transformation, losing almost one hundred and twenty pounds, I can say from experience that this was not simply an aesthetic or superficial change. The process of physical change, of changing my diet and exercise snowballed, and helped me grow and improve the rest of my life.

I've learned that if you want to change, you only need to start with one thing, and I believe that one thing is fitness. When we begin to exercise, we establish a new pattern. Exercise requires discipline and hard-work, and as we root those into our routines, we begin to reap the benefits.

Our bodies change, we feel our health improve, and the lessons we learn through the routine of exercise spreads to our other patterns: work, hobbies, family, and dreams. All of these parts of our lives begin to feel the change that we started simply through exercising.

This is why I'm so passionate about fitness, and why I love coaching clients. At Milesfit, we facilitate the physical, emotional, and psychological transformation of our clients through fitness. As they progress in their training, engaging their bodies, they begin to feel that surge of confidence, of discipline, of change.

In an effort to practice what I preach, I’ve decided to embark on a 30 day challenge, and I’d like to invite you all to join me. The challenge is simple: each day, for 30 days, I am committing myself to engage in some sort of physical activity.

That doesn’t necessarily mean going to the gym and working out! It could be as simple as a bike ride through your neighbourhood, going for a swim with some friends, or just a nice long walk. The point is that we take time out of each of these 30 days to engage ourselves physically. This is a challenge to reinvest time into ourselves. I expect that by the end of the 30 days, we’ll all feel some marked improvements, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well!

Milesfit is my contribution to the world, and I’m so happy and invigorated to share it with you all. I hope I can help you all in your own journeys of health and wellbeing.
